
St. Paul Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Steve Schaar as Associate Superintendent of Human Resources effective August 2023.
Mr. Schaar’s role will focus largely on staff relations, staffing and recruitment, professional development, leadership training and other key components connected to human resources in the education setting.
Mr. Schaar holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University. He has spent his entire career with Elk Island Public Schools, beginning as a teacher at Strathcona Christian Academy in 1992. After nine years in the classroom, Mr. Schaar went on to serve as principal in elementary and secondary schools over the next sixteen years. In 2017, Mr. Schaar joined the Central Services team at Elk Island Public Schools as Director of Human Resources. The experience and knowledge he has gained in this role will be a great benefit to St. Paul Education.
Mr. Schaar expresses that he is excited about taking on this new role. “I am thrilled to be joining the students, staff and families of St. Paul Education! I have been thoroughly impressed with the leadership of the Board of Trustees and Superintendent Barron.
