Today, our Board of Trustees and Division Leadership team joined the St. Paul Regional High School and St. Paul Alternate Education Centre students and staff for their Orange Shirt Day activities. The morning opened with a ceremonial drum song, followed by an opportunity to learn about the history of residential schools and also hear the painful stories and history from survivors. In closing, those in attendance placed orange flowers on a wreath that was created by the local Student’s Union, and then joined together in partnership for a healing Round Dance.
A special thank you to our Elder Advisory Council for joining us today and sharing their spirit of knowledge. We would also like to acknowledge the Student’s Union for their hard work and dedication in organizing the morning’s activities.
